Using Koryo

Once Koryo is installed, here's how to run your first pulse survey, collect responses in Slack, and turn them into insight your leadership can act on.

New here? Start with the installation guide first, then come back.

Creating a survey

From the dashboard, open Surveys → New. You have two formats:

  • Engagement survey — a multi-page set drawn from a validated bank of 60+ questions across four categories: Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Wellbeing, and Transformation & Change.
  • Poll — a single custom question (multiple choice or rating scale) when you just need a quick read.

Pick questions from the bank by category and subcategory, or write your own. Give the survey a title and move on to the audience.

Choosing who receives it

  1. Send to the whole workspace, or to a specific team or group you've defined.
  2. Choose the delivery channel: Slack DM (default) or email for teammates not on Slack.
Responses are anonymised at the data layer. You can see who has responded for participation tracking, but individual answers are never attributed to a person in reports.

Scheduling & reminders

  • Send immediately, or schedule a date and time and Koryo delivers automatically.
  • Non-responders get an automatic follow-up reminder after 24 hours.
  • Answers are saved page by page, so people can close the survey and finish later.

How employees respond

The survey arrives as a Slack DM. Teammates answer inline using native Slack UI - no external links, typically under 90 seconds. They can reopen the DM to continue a partially-completed survey.

Reading results

Open the survey in the dashboard to see:

ViewWhat it shows
Response rateHow many recipients have answered, updated in real time.
Scores by categoryAverage engagement score broken down by category and subcategory.
Per-questionIndividual question scores, plus any free-text comments collected.
TimelineScore over time across survey rounds - global, by category, or eNPS view.

AI insights

On the Plus plan, Koryo adds AI analysis on top of the raw scores:

  • AI summary — a three-bullet executive read of each survey result.
  • Sentiment — a positive / neutral / negative label with a 0-100 score.
  • Trend predictions — compares the last two rounds and surfaces significant moves by category.
  • Risk flags — context-aware signals such as retention risk or stress, adapted to sample size and team type.
  • AI question suggestions — generate questions from a survey title, auto-categorised and editable before adding.

Sharing & exporting

From the results view you can save, copy, email, or share an analysis directly to Slack (rich Block Kit message). For offline reporting or HRIS ingestion, use CSV export.

Managing users & roles

Import your team in one click with bulk Slack user import, then assign roles:

HR AdminEverything, including users, roles, and billing.
Polls CreatorCreate/send surveys and view results.
End UserReceives and answers surveys.

Need to change someone's role? An HR Admin does it from Users in the dashboard.

Tips for a good first round

  • Start small - one short survey beats a long one nobody finishes.
  • Tell your team it's anonymous; reply rates jump when people trust it.
  • Run on a regular cadence so the timeline view becomes meaningful.
